How to be Happy with Fitness – 3 Ways to Exercise and be Happy!

Happiness and fitness go hand in hand according to studies at Vermont – Research says that a human’s mood benefits with just 20 minutes of exercise and can last up to 12 hours. 

But why do we become more happy when we exercise? And how do we use it to our advantage?

1.) Happy Chemicals are Released into our Brain!

Dopamine, a reward chemical, is a huge reason humans receive boosts in their happiness.  wrote that dopamine is released upon achieving a (fitness) goal.

Action Plan: If you’re looking for increased happiness, a great way is to set small achievable fitness goal to release this chemical reaction. Try running a mile (for time), performing more pull-ups, cross country skiing in a 5k race, biking to work, slide board for 30 minutes a day.

2.) Exercise Outdoors

Go for a walk with a friend or join a fitness group that is held outside. There are more and more programs that offer this type of setting like yoga in the park, walking groups, biking teams, or dog parks.

A study performed by UCLA is showing that humans are meant to be social, and teams/groups are a perfect way to be social and get exercise at the same time. There are many options for people when it comes to group activities.

Find a sports team such as soccer, softball, or volleyball. Join a crossfit gym or a ski club. You can also find less intense activities such as bird watching groups or scenic walk clubs.

All of these styles of fitness help mask the idea of exercise (ugh… work) and make it more fun!

People that are experienced using a slide board can use an 8ft slide board, but we recommend 6ft slide boards for most new slide board shoppers.

2. Am I super tall, like 6′ 4″?

So your tall and haven’t used a slide board before. This is the one case in which we might recommend an 8ft slide board for a slide board shopper.

3. Am I the only person using it?

If you plan on having different size people use the board or different skill levels we do have adjustable slide boards available at our store. They are priced a little higher but are a great board for a bigger family or fitness camp.
